The Big Thank You Party Recap

Taking advantage of RiNo's Art District's First Friday, when many RiNo locations open their doors to the public with art openings and live music, the Cappello's Crew hosted for the first time 'The Big Thank You party.' The focus of this party was to raise funds for local non-profits Comeback Yoga, Denver Urban Gardens, and Denver Food Rescue. The event took place at Lustre Pearl Denver, a few blocks away from Cappello's Headquarters. Management, headed by Matt Y., was extremely supportive of the event, helping us secure beverage sponsors to create a custom drink menu for the event.  Friends of Cappello's and...

How to make Chocolate Chip Cookie Cups for Ice Cream

The other day, I was yet again looking for something to sweet to eat. Never mind that I need to work on my self discipline when it comes to treats. But it was Friday night, and I had behaved all week, and even hit the gym a few times, so I was in the mood for a treat. Can you blame me? Originally I thought about just heading to the freezer and grabbing a roll of our grain-free Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, which is made by our friends at Cappello’s. We approached them almost 5 years ago to help bring...

We Made The Inc. 5000 List

Every year, Inc. Magazine publishes a list called the Inc. 5000, meant to recognize the fastest-growing, privately-owned companies in America. (Technically, they have an entirely separate list for our European friends.) Cappello’s is honored to be joining this amazing list of innovators, movers and shakers at number 625, with 720.59% growth. “We can’t thank our colleagues, partners, and customers enough - nobody does it alone,” says co-CEO Stacey Marcellus. “We’re humbled not just to make the list, but knowing that our growth symbolizes a strong and vibrant community of customers who like and appreciate what we make and what we...

The bees and the almonds, a love story.

Guest blog post by: Carly Stein, Founder of Beekeeper's Naturals The bees and the almonds, a love story. Unless you've been living under a rock, you likely have heard a thing or two about the issues affecting our bees. Bees pollinate 70 of the world’s 100 most important food crops and they have been dying off at a rapid pace. Since 2006 we have seen international bee populations getting decimated and the epidemic is not over. A typical over winter hive loss in North America was only 10-15%. Yet in 2016 we saw a devastating 44% of managed honeybee colonies die...

Our Deep mulch garden bed/Hugelkultur

This low maintenance approach to a garden bed is an example of biomimicry. The layers are like that of a forest. In the coming years, decomposition will be happening under the surface feeding nutrients to the plants above. We will not till or turn the soil because we’re  encouraging a happy ecosystem underground and preventing weed growth. The cardboard will also aid in discouraging weed growth from the ground below. Why? To give back - we’re donating the veggies we grow to Denver Food Rescue To put our unused outdoor space to good use and be a good example of...
